Nova was designed by Icosis Architects to be functional, comfortable and exciting.
The black wood clad rhombus shape from a distance blends into the shadows of the trees; close up and all but invisible until just a few metres away, it emerges, almost as a surprise, amidst the surrounding forest.

The Living Space
Nova is designed to be functional and comfortable. With a high ceiling there’s a spacious feel to the 30m2 floor area. A wood stove with oven, fold down sofa bed, dining table and chairs and a sliding door leading to a deck. Amenities include a 12v record player with a selection of LP’s, a bluetooth speaker, books and games.
A sliding door from the living space takes you straight onto a raised deck with open views over to the town of Dollar, the hilltop ruins of Castle Campbell, and the Ochil Hills. A great place to catch the late afternoon sun.
The Kitchen Space
The galley kitchen has a 2 burner LPG hob, cool cupboard, sink and enough crockery, pans and utensils for creative cooking.
The sink has 2 taps, both cold: one bringing mains drinking water carried in and stored below in 25l containers. The other tap delivers filtered but untreated water from a spring in the woods, for washing up.
The Hall
The bathroom has a composting WC, sink and small bath with a pumped shower. Hot water is not on demand and involves some practice heating water over a fire outside. This isn’t difficult and can be a satisfying process in itself, whilst also delivering a low impact washing experience.
The Bedroom
The mezzanine sleeping platform is accessed via a ladder. There’s a double bed adjacent to a large picture window with a view into the woods. Overhead a skylight to view the clouds and stars.
Outside Nova
Soak in a wood fired bath tub, practice fire cooking on a tripod and grid on the patio are, or just relax, swinging in a hammock enjoying the air.

Nova has 30m2 internal ground floor, 8m2 front deck, 8m2 mezzanine. Bathroom with composting toilet.
